St. Peter’s Lutheran Church is one of two churches at the west end of Sparks Street. Across the street from the church is the Garden of the Provinces and Territories, built a little over a decade later and embodying very different design principles.
The stone church almost seems atypical for the city of Ottawa, which features dozens of modern churches and religious buildings clad in brick and steel. The lot adjacent to the church has been infilled with a residential high-rise, which marks the second large development on the block between Bronson Ave. and Bay St. after the 2010s.
