Located at Preston St. and Norman St., the Prescott Realty Building is a simple two-storey office building that emerged in the neighbourhood in the 1960s/70s.

The building is clad in brick, with beige panels above and below the windows, both a Canadian and Italian flag hang from the Preston St. facade. The scale of the building in both height and width allows it to fit well within the context of house-turned restaurants across the street. A substantial garden in front of the building also softens the edge against Preston St.

With considerable amounts of development happening in Ottawa’s Little Italy – especially along Preston Street – it will be interesting to see what becomes of this humble office space.
