Originally opening as a Holiday Inn, the building has 489 guestrooms, and is located on the corner of Queen Street and Kent Street.

For a very short time, the building was the tallest in the Capital, before its neighbour, Place de Ville Tower C, surpassed it in height. The building sits on a rough, concrete-clad podium that has no windows, and appears as a solid mass three storeys in height. The podium does pull back from the street at the ground level, allowing for commercial uses along its base. Above the podium, the building is clad with a lighter concrete that is well articulated around the windows of the rooms. The concrete detailing provides an additional layer of depth to the façade, along with balconies located on the corners of the building.

At the very top of the building exists the round, revolving room, which is perhaps the most recognizable feature of the Marriott. The room houses a private event space, formerly a restaurant, and rotates at a rate of about one revolution every two hours.
