Located at 200 and 201 Friel Street in Sandy Hill, the two sister towers represent peak brutalism in Ottawa.

Clad completely in raw concrete, the towers were built by the City of Ottawa in collaboration with the Ontario Housing Corporation, intended to replace housing that was destroyed during urban renewal. The buildings are arranged as stacked two-storey apartments, the tower on the west is five levels and the tower on the east six. The Friel Towers are currently managed by Ottawa Community Housing, offering 155 homes with a mixture of one, two, and three-bedroom apartments.

More information on the Friel Towers can be found at the Related Resources.
