Originally built for the Sisters of the Congregation of Notre-Dame and sold to the Government of Canada in 1973, the Federal Study Centre operated for four decades before ceasing operations. The Murray & Murray designed campus features several buildings clad in brick and concrete that house a variety of educational functions. The most recognizable building on the campus is the chapel, which sits in the centre of the site and has a uniquely sloped copper roof. The campus was sold in 2020 after several years of vacancy and is slated for redevelopment. The new scheme for the campus retains all but two of the existing buildings for residential and mixed uses.
