1960 - 2012

Now demolished, the Christ Church Cathedral Hall once sat adjacent to the Garden of the Provinces and Territories overlooking the Ottawa River.

The building featured a shallow-arched canopy supported by white columns, behind which stood a Nepean sandstone façade with raised detailing. The building was demolished in 2012 in favour of a multi-unit residential building that is part of a larger development that includes a tower. Where the new building occupies the former site of the Christ Church Cathedral Hall, the development is sensitive to the height and overall massing and materiality of the previous building. The surrounding area has been subject to heavy development in recent years, and another condo on the opposite side of the main church is nearing completion as of 2023.
