The Marchand Residence is one of University of Ottawa’s brick residence towers, and sits together with the Stanton Residence overlooking the Rideau Canal.

Built in 1965 with the Academic Writing Help Centre and rising 14 storeys, the Marchand Residence is the earliest tower on the UOttawa campus, and one of the earlier towers of its size in the downtown core.

The building is clad in brown brick and concrete, and features an almost H-like footprint. The materiality and form is similar to the neighbouring Stanton Residence, and the two towers together have a unique modernist presence on the campus.

More information on the Marchand Residence is available at the Related Resources.
