Ann Manor is a 20 storey, 109 unit condominium located in the Golden Triangle neighbourhood. A short walk to the Rideau Canal, the building was constructed by Assaly Construction in the mid 70’s, and contains one and two bedroom units.
The building is clad in a chestnut-coloured brick, which sets it apart from adjacent concrete-clad towers such as Ten Driveway and 111 Cooper St. The materiality is further emphasized by a lack of significant glazing on the four facades, and balconies that utilize the same coloured brick for the base of railings, covering the few glazed areas across the building. Brown metal caps the brick, providing even more of a consistent monolithic appearance.
The entrance to Ann Manor is a driveway covered by a canopy which is composed of a concrete waffle-slab and a brown brick parapet. Overall, the tower is an undeniable presence in the Golden Triangle, its robust form and materiality have a significant impact on its surroundings.
