The St. Patrick’s Building is one of the few non-residence buildings on the north end of the Carleton University campus. When walking past through the campus, the reliefs in the building’s form engage the viewer.

The building houses offices for the Institute of Comparative Studies in Literature, Art and Culture (ICSLAC), the School for Linguistics and Language Studies, and the School for Studies in Art and Culture. The St. Patrick’s Building is also home to the Carleton University Art Gallery.

The building is clad in orange brick, and features ribbon windows across the first level. Punched windows sit on the upper two floors. An interesting moment in the facade occurs above the main entrance, where the windows are extended into the corner, rather than maintaining their grid. This move occurs at the same point around the building, which has a pinwheel-like configuration.
