Bay Laurier Place is a 22-storey condo in the west end of Centretown, just beyond many of the city’s office towers. The building offers 195 units.
The building itself has a strong presence along Laurier Ave. W., as it stretches over half of the block and offers little more than a solid concrete wall and planters at grade. Painted a sandy-yellow colour, the only major disruption in the ground level façade is the main entrance, which pulls back slightly from the street. Red columns marking the entrance were added in the early 2000’s.
Above the ground floor, the building is clad with smooth concrete, the concrete free from ornament and remains uninterrupted between windows and balconies. At the windows, dark grey, heavy aggregated concrete acts as spandrel panels. Balconies protrude from the façade with chamfered corners, and the two stacks of balconies in the centre of the building converge into one wide terrace at the top of the building.
