The Tory Building was the first building built on Carleton’s campus, followed by Paterson Hall and the original MacOdrum Library. Since the completion of its construction in 1958, the building has been renovated three times, with the mural in the centre of the building, created by Gerald Trottier, being the only piece of the original building that is unaltered. The Tory Building houses several offices, notably the office of the registrar, career services, and the academic advising centre. The building also has several classrooms and contains one large lecture hall, commonly known to students as “The Egg” due to its round shape and steep seating.
Rehabilitation and exterior replacement completed in 2002 by Edward J Cuhaci and Associates Architects Inc.
